Kuwait National Petroleum Company has awarded $11.5 billion worth of EPC contracts on Packages one, two, three and five of the new refinery project (NRP). Package four will be awarded in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Honeywell, in partnership with Fluor Corporation is conducting the front-end engineering design (FEED) works. Additionally, Honeywell will also provide integrated control and safety system (ICSS). AMEC is the project management consultancy (PMC) contractor and KBC Advanced Technologies is the technical consultant.

When completed in 2018, the multi-billion dollar refinery is expected to be the largest in the Middle East and will increase Kuwait’s refinery capacity by 615,000 barrels per day. It will be a key part of Kuwait’s long term strategy, producing cleaner fuels to meet its electrical power generation growth and demand while adhering to the latest environmental standards.
