10 Years of Dutch Energy Solutions

Dutch Energy Solutions celebrates 10 years of its existence. In November 2009, on the request of the Ministry of Economy and Climate Change of the Netherlands, Dutch Energy Solutions was founded by Association FME, Association IRO and the ministry. The aim of this cluster is to promote the interest of Dutch innovation and the Dutch industry in the Gulf Region in the energy field.

Highlights

Dutch Energy Solutions has represented the interest of more than 150 Dutch companies in past 10 years through their participation in C-level company trade missions, workshops and seminars in the Gulf Region. These events also enjoyed high-level participation from our government from the Netherlands. Main highlights are the Royal State Visit with HRH Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands at the time, with the current king and queen HRH Willem-Alexander and HRH Maxima of the Netherlands in 2012. In the past 10 years, several visiting delegations were headed by HE Maxime Verhagen, Vice Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Minister Kamp, Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister Ploumen, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Vice Minister Jones-Bos of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of Rotterdam, just to name a few.

The main themes tackled were bringing innovation from the Netherlands into the Gulf Region as well as, offshore technology, energy efficiency, health, safety and environment and carbon management.

Vision for the Future

While maintaining the position obtained in the last 10 years, Dutch Energy Solution will focus on further developing the following themes: implementing innovation, sustainable process and energy efficiency, offshore, logistics and transport, circularity in industry and new energies for industry. Far-going digitalisation will play a role on all themes.

We look forward to engage with existing and new members and other stakeholders in this endeavour.
